In the beginning ......
There is excitement when we speak our first words. Overtime, people begin to feel unheard and like they have no voice. Every word that is spoken is important especially when it is about you, how you feel and what you’re thinking.
At TALK, you have a safe space to be expressive, emotional, connect, and process your thoughts out loud under confidentiality.
The Mission of T.A.L.K.

Are you struggling with issues related to trauma, grief, addiction, depression, anxiety, or major life changes?
There comes a time when we need some help from a certified professional to help cope with many of life’s challenges. I’m a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate in the Lacey, WA area, and I’d love to help you on your journey toward healing and self-discovery. Since opening the doors of my practice in 2021, I have provided people in the PNW area with a wide range of psychological services. Life can be overwhelming and sometimes even exhausting, but I’m here to guide you through any obstacles you may face. My goal is to help you understand yourself more deeply and better cope with change.
Snapshot of Methods
I implement effective psychotherapy methods to instill self-understanding among people and encourage them to adopt new attitudes and feelings towards life situations. It is essential to keep in mind that therapy is not a magic pill or a quick fix: therapy is a healing process that necessitates participation and investment from the person and caretaker alike. But in the end, making small changes to self-defeating behavior and coping with feelings of sadness, fear, and pain can bring life-altering results.
Whether you’re an individual, couple, or family looking for a bit of counseling, or need professional assistance overcoming a traumatic experience - your well-being is my number one priority. I go above and beyond to cater to the needs of every individual with my personalized services because each person comes with unique circumstances.

About the Therapist
April
I am a retired Army veteran with over 18 years of military service, and a mother of 5 children in various developmental stages ranging from 7yrs of age to 23yrs of age. I have lived and traveled abroad and across the United States. I have served in 4 different tours of deployment that have included Afghanistan and Iraq throughout my service to the United States of America. I am originally from the East Coast and have been living in the State of Washington since 2002 on and off.
I offer a partnership working with clients to meet their needs. I have experience with individuals and groups working to overcome symptoms of PTSD, substance use disorders, depression, grief, sexual trauma, abuse, anxiety, stress, and relationship challenges. The ultimate goal is to support clients on their journey to meet or exceed their goals and offer the best quality of care. Taking time to TALK can offer innovative ideas, breakthroughs, and strength in communication.

I provide mental health counseling from school age to adult individuals, marriage and family therapy to families, couples, individuals, adolescents and school age youth. I integrate several different therapeutic styles and modalities, depending on what fits the best for each individual and their specific situation. Some of the therapeutic models I use are Psychodynamic, Lifespan Integration, and Motivational Interviewing. My approaches to therapy include Cognitive Behavioral, Mindfulness, Systematic, Narrative, Solution-Focused, Creative, Client-Centered, and focus on Social Justice.
